Consisting of student groups acting scenes from Shakespeare, the festival's objective is for students to explore the bard by making the text "their own." The preliminary performances take place in the auditorium during Language Arts classes and seminars. The second phase of the festival involves scenes chosen for the two showcase assemblies plus the public evening performance. All scenes must be taken from Shakespeare's plays. Some years, students from Alconbury HS, London Central and Menwith Hill also perform. Many students report this is one of the most memorable activities of their high school career, and often graduates will return for the holidays to watch others perform "their" scenes, and sometimes to act as judges.
