Cosmetology Club
The Cosmetology Club consists of students presently enrolled in the Cosmetology program here at LHS. Through the club and regular classes, the club members gain experience on live models as well as clients. The services they perform in the cosmetology lab are haircutting, hairstyling, haircoloring, and permanent straightening and waving. Other services they perform are manicuring, and makeup application. Many of the students perform entire makeovers and photograph the clients for their portfolios
The students also attend field trips to hairshows and fashion shows. Guest speakers are invited to come and demonstrate services to the students. For the past several years the club members performed hair and nail services to the girls scouts from the intermediate school after school.
In addition to designing and making professional type portfolios, the students count all the cosmetology training hours they accumulate in the club towards their cosmetology certificate. This is a legal document they must obtain before they are able to practice the profession in a salon. Many of our club members have become successful Cosmetologists and appreciate the experience and practice they received by being a LHS club member
